During the pandemic of COVID-19, our school faced with issues in the management of teaching and providing dental services. Besides, the controlling and monitoring of infection in dental school and hospital were indeed crucial. Dent Chula team shared our experience and aspects on the the procedures for dental hospitals/clinics in case of an asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected individual involved in dental service/treatment and later after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Patient screening using temperature and questionnaire cannot cexclude asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected cases. Therefore, it is inevitable that dental personnels could treat pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected individual. The case study published by Dent Chula team aimed to share our procedures to prevent and monitor the SAR-CoV-2 spread in our dental hospital. Although, there might be some limitations of the management. Practice sharing could lead to the discussion for those limitation and reveal the alternative solution, ultimately bring about the standard guideline for practice management in the future.
